About the Gulfstream G200
The Gulfstream G200 is a super-midsize business jet that began life as the IAI Galaxy and became a Gulfstream when the company acquired the program in 2001. It was the first super-midsize aircraft to pair a genuinely stand-up, wide cabin with transcontinental range, and roughly 250 were delivered before the G280 replaced it in 2011. The cabin is its defining feature: at 7.2 ft wide and 6.3 ft tall it is closer to a large-cabin jet than to the midsize aircraft it competes with on price, which is why it still holds a place on charter certificates well over a decade after production ended.
Who charters it
A value play on the super-midsize charter market. Clients get large-cabin comfort and coast-to-coast capability at a rate that typically undercuts a G280 or Challenger 350 by a meaningful margin, which is the main reason to choose one. The tradeoffs are real: it needs more runway than a G280, its hot-and-high performance is noticeably weaker, and cabin technology on an older airframe varies a lot from one aircraft to the next. Wi-Fi and refurbishment are confirmed on the specific aircraft rather than assumed, and a trip into a mountain airport gets a runway and density-altitude check for the day.

Worth knowing

Colorado mountain airports: limited
58 ft 1 in wingspan is far inside Aspen's limit, so the constraint is runway and density altitude, not size. Sea-level takeoff distance is about 6,083 ft with a balanced field length nearer 6,600 ft, which is MORE than the G150 already rated limited here, so ASE at 7,838 ft elevation means real payload and fuel cuts and should be treated as conditional on the day. Hot-and-high performance is the specific area where the G280 improved on this aircraft, so do not carry a G280 mountain assumption across to a G200. EGE is the more realistic mountain option; TEX is not a sensible destination for this type.
