Which Private Jet Should You Charter?
Light, midsize, heavy, or ultra-long-range? Here's how to pick the right aircraft for your trip, without overpaying for capability you don't need.
The decision guide
The right jet is the one that fits the trip
The biggest mistake in charter is paying for an aircraft that's bigger than the mission needs. Four simple questions, passengers, distance, cabin, and budget, point you to the right category almost every time. Below is how to think about it, and the actual aircraft in each class. When you're ready, we'll match you to the exact tail.
Four questions that narrow it down
How many are flying?
2–4 leans light, 6–9 midsize, 10+ heavy or ultra-long-range. Count luggage too: golf clubs and ski gear eat baggage space fast on light jets.
How far are you going?
Under ~1,500 miles, a light jet is efficient. US coast-to-coast wants a midsize. Crossing an ocean means a heavy or ultra-long-range jet.
Do you need to stand up and work?
Light jets have lower cabins. If you want full stand-up height and a real work or conference setup, start at midsize.
What's the budget vs. the mission?
Right-size it. Flying a heavy jet on a 90-minute hop is expensive overkill. We'll recommend the smallest aircraft that does the job well, never the priciest.
Light Jets
The most cost-efficient way to fly private. Ideal for short regional hops and small groups who want to keep it sensible.
Midsize Jets
The versatile sweet spot. A stand-up cabin, room to work, and enough range for most US transcontinental routes.
Heavy Jets
Long-range comfort for larger groups. Stand-up cabins, sleeping areas, and transatlantic capability.
Ultra Long Range Jets
The pinnacle. Fly the world's longest city pairs non-stop in a residence-like cabin, fast.
