What Private Jet Charter Actually Costs
No mystery, no hidden fees. Here are real charter rates, what moves the price, and how to fly for less.
Honest pricing
“What's this actually going to cost me, all in?”
It's the question everyone has and too few brokers answer straight. Charter pricing isn't a secret. It comes down to a handful of clear factors, and you deserve to see all of them. Below is how it really works, and our promise: one all-in number, no booking fees, nothing buried in the fine print.
Typical hourly rates by aircraft
A realistic starting range. Your exact quote depends on the trip.
Rates are illustrative industry ranges and exclude taxes and segment fees, which are included in your final all-in quote.
What drives a quote up or down
Aircraft category
The single biggest factor. A light jet and an ultra-long-range jet are different worlds of cost.
Distance & flight time
Most charter is priced by occupied flight hours, so longer trips cost more.
Repositioning
If the aircraft has to fly empty to reach you or get home, that can add to the price (and is where empty legs save you).
Round trip vs one-way
Round trips with short ground time are often more efficient than two separate one-ways.
Dates & demand
Peak travel days and busy events (think ski season into Aspen) push prices up.
Taxes & segment fees
Federal excise tax and per-segment fees apply. We include these in your all-in number, not as a surprise later.
Want to fly for less?
Empty leg flights, repositioning trips a jet is making anyway, can save 50–75%. We watch for them on your routes and flag the ones worth grabbing.

Which one fits depends on how much you actually fly.
On-Demand Charter
Pay per trip, no commitment. You only spend when you fly, and you pick the right aircraft for each trip. The most flexible option for the vast majority of clients.
Jet Card
Pre-purchase flight hours at a fixed rate. Predictable pricing and guaranteed availability, with money committed up front.
Fractional / Ownership
Buy a share of an aircraft. Makes sense at very high usage, but comes with large capital and ongoing operating costs. We'll tell you honestly if you're not there yet.
