About the Learjet 31A
The Learjet 31A pairs the classic swept-wing Learjet airframe and its trademark speed with a digital EFIS cockpit and uprated engines, making it one of the fastest and cheapest jets on the US charter market. Its cabin is tight by modern standards, but its climb and cruise speed still rival much newer aircraft.
Who charters it
Charter clients book the 31A for its speed and low hourly rate on shorter legs with 2-4 passengers, especially time-critical trips where getting there fast matters more than cabin comfort.

Colorado mountain airports: limited
Famous for climb performance and a 51,000 ft ceiling, but its sea-level takeoff distance is over 5,000 ft, which forces significant weight cuts at ASE's elevation, and the airframes are aging (production ended 2003) with few examples left in charter service. EGE is workable; treat ASE as conditional and TEX as unusual for this type.
