About the Learjet 40XR
The Learjet 40XR borrows the Learjet 45's wide fuselage but on a shorter airframe, giving it a cabin about 20 percent larger than rival light jets along with Learjet's traditional speed. Uprated TFE731-20BR engines over the base Learjet 40 push cruise speed past 460 knots and range past 2,000 nm.

Charter clients pick the 40XR when they want Learjet speed and a genuinely roomy cabin at light-jet pricing, a good fit for time-sensitive business trips of 4-6 passengers where the extra headroom and legroom over a Citation CJ-class jet matters.

The XR upgrade added uprated TFE731-20BR engines specifically for better takeoff weight and climb, and the 40XR is the shorter, lighter sibling of the Learjet 45XR that Aspen charter sources name as the go-to Learjet for ASE, so ASE and EGE are realistic with the same warm-day weight and fuel restrictions documented for the 45XR. TEX is marginal for the Learjet wing's higher approach speeds and should not be sold as routine.
