About the Citation CJ2+

The Citation CJ2+ is a FADEC-equipped evolution of the original CJ2, offering a roomy cabin for its size, standard TCAS/TAWS, and strong short-field performance for a light jet of its era. Long out of production, it remains a popular pre-owned charter and owner-flown light jet with a large, mature fleet.

Who charters it

A dependable workhorse charter choice for 4-6 passenger trips, including into shorter or more challenging runways; attractive to price-sensitive charter clients who want a true light jet rather than a turboprop for regional and mid-range legs.

Colorado mountain airports: capable

The CJ2+ shares the CJ family's short-field wing and is explicitly cited as suitable for routes like LA to Aspen, with a sea-level takeoff distance close to the CJ3's. It has less powerful engines than the CJ3/CJ4 though, so expect tighter payload and fuel trims on hot summer days at ASE and especially at TEX; EGE is comfortably within its capability with its longer, lower-elevation runway.

Planning guidance only. The operator, the AFM performance data, and conditions on the day are the final authority.
