Two FBOs on the field. Noise abatement requires a right or left turnout as soon as safety permits after departing runway 28 to avoid the town of Hayden. Reduced ARFF coverage overnight, 2100 to 0600, unless an extension is arranged with the airport by 2300. Large flocks of sandhill cranes are common on and near the field in spring and fall. Winter conditions can be severe October through April; check NOTAMs before arrival. Serves Steamboat Springs.
Aircraft classes that fit this runway
This compares each aircraft's published takeoff distance against KHDN's longest runway only. It does not account for this field's 6,606 ft elevation, temperature, or terrain, all of which cut into real performance at density altitude, and several of these are mountain fields where that gap matters. Treat this as a starting point for a conversation with us, never as clearance to fly here.
Takeoff distances are published under differing conditions and are not directly comparable between types. Confirm against the operator and the AFM for a specific aircraft, weight, and day.

Scott Wallace Agency is a licensed air charter broker, not an air carrier: we do not operate aircraft or control this field. Runway, elevation, and airport identifiers are sourced from public FAA/OurAirports data. FBO, customs, and operational notes reflect research current as of the date they were compiled and can change; confirm specifics for your trip when you book.
