About the Gulfstream G400
The Gulfstream G400 is the entry point to Gulfstream's new-generation large-cabin family, sharing its fuselage cross-section and Symmetry Flight Deck with the G500 and G600 but in a shortened airframe. It targets operators who want Gulfstream cabin comfort and range without stepping up to the larger G500.
Who charters it
Not yet charterable. The G400 is still working through FAA certification with first deliveries targeted for 2025, so it has no charter track record yet; once certified it is expected to slot into the large-cabin charter market alongside aircraft like the Challenger 650 and Falcon 2000LXS.

Colorado mountain airports: limited
Just entering service: first flight was August 2024 and deliveries slipped past Gulfstream's original 2025 target, so there is essentially no charter fleet or mountain-airport track record yet. Its G500/G600-family wing fits inside Aspen's 95 ft limit, so ASE-class capability is plausible once the type matures, but for now plan it as an EGE-first aircraft and treat any ASE or TEX request as unproven for the type.
