About the Boeing Business Jet (BBJ / BBJ MAX)

The Boeing Business Jet is a VIP-airliner conversion of the 737 family, currently built as the BBJ MAX 7, MAX 8 and MAX 9 on the 737 MAX platform. It delivers airliner-scale cabin space and intercontinental range, with Boeing shipping a green airframe for a completion center to build out a bespoke VIP interior.

Who charters it

Charter clients turn to the BBJ for large delegations, sports teams, entertainment tours and head-of-state or corporate group travel where 20 to 50 passengers need to move together over long distances with full airliner-grade cabin space; each aircraft is bespoke, so exact mission fit varies by interior.

  • Retractable airstairs for independent remote-airport operations
  • 6,500 ft cabin altitude for reduced fatigue on long legs
  • Full customization from boardrooms to master suites with showers

Colorado mountain airports: unsuitable

A 737-based bizliner whose wingspan and roughly 174,000 lb and up takeoff weights exceed both of Aspen's limits (95 ft wingspan, 100,000 lb dual-wheel), and Telluride is entirely out of the question. EGE historically handled Boeing 757 airline service, so a BBJ can physically operate there for a large group event, but this is exceptional-case planning rather than realistic mountain charter, and ground-transfer from Denver or EGE is the honest recommendation.

Planning guidance only. The operator, the AFM performance data, and conditions on the day are the final authority.
